Who are we?
hometutors.in connects students seeking tutoring ("Students") with qualified tutors ("Tutors") and institutes ("Institutes"). We act as a platform, not an employer, for tutors and institutes.
Role of Platform
hometutors.in is a matching platform only. We do not employ, endorse, or control tutors or institutes. All tutors are independent contractors. We are not responsible for:
- The quality, safety, or legality of tutoring services.
- The accuracy of user profiles or qualifications.
- Any direct agreement, payment, or dispute between users.
You are solely responsible for verifying credentials, supervising minors, and making informed choices.

Restricted Activities
- Illegal Activity: Don't use hometutors.in for illegal tasks like ghostwriting or cheating.
- Academic Dishonesty: Respect your school's policies and avoid violating them.
- Harassment: Treat others with respect and avoid harmful behavior.
- Data Collection: Don't collect personal data about other users.
- Unauthorized Access: Don't disrupt the site or violate network rules.
- Spam and Fraud: Don't send spam or use the site for fraudulent purposes.
- Commercial Use: Don't exploit the site for commercial gain without permission.
Eligibility and Conduct
- 18+ Only: Only adults (18+) can use hometutors.in.
- Supervision for Minors: Parents/guardians should supervise under-18 users.
- Accurate Information: Provide accurate and current contact details.
- Confidentiality: Respect the privacy of others (see "Confidential Information" below).
- Feedback Guidelines: Be honest and respectful in feedback, avoiding personal attacks.
- Content Ownership: You grant hometutors.in non-exclusive rights to your submitted content.
- Content Restrictions: Submitted content must be true, factual, and not infringe on anyone's rights.
- Multiple Submissions: Limit yourself to one submission per topic every 30 days.
- Content Removal: hometutors.in reserves the right to remove inappropriate content.
Confidential Information
For the purpose of these Terms, "Confidential Information" includes, but is not limited to:
- Personal contact details (address, phone number, email) exchanged privately.
- Payment details, bank account or UPI IDs.
- Private messages, lesson materials, or assessment results shared outside the platform.
You agree not to share such information publicly or with third parties without explicit consent. hometutors.in is not liable for misuse of information you voluntarily share outside our messaging system.
Payments & Refunds
Membership & Service Fees: Any fees paid to hometutors.in (e.g., for membership plans) are non-refundable once paid. You may clarify all doubts before making a payment.
Payments Between Users: Fees paid by students to tutors or institutes are direct transactions. hometutors.in is not a party to these payments and is not responsible for disputes, refunds, or non-delivery of services. We strongly advise:
- Verifying tutor/institute credentials before payment.
- Avoiding large advance payments unless you have a written agreement.
- Using secure, traceable payment methods.
If a tutor fails to provide services, the student's recourse is directly against the tutor.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, hometutors.in and its owners, directors, employees, or agents shall not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Loss of profits, data, reputation, or opportunity.
- Damages arising from user interactions, including but not limited to personal injury, harassment, or financial loss.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us (if any) in the preceding 12 months.
No Guarantees
Use hometutors.in at your own risk. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure service. We expressly disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
User Responsibility
You are fully responsible for your interactions with other users, both online and offline. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless hometutors.in from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or your breach of these Terms.
Force Majeure
hometutors.in shall not be held liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms if such delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, internet outages, cyberattacks, or labor disputes.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Delhi, India. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Dispute Resolution
We encourage users to resolve disputes amicably. hometutors.in is not a mediator and does not intervene in user-to-user disputes. However, we may offer suggestions and, where necessary, cooperate with law enforcement.
Tutors – Additional Terms
- Qualifications: You must be at least 18 years old with necessary qualifications.
- Independent Contractor: You are not an employee. You are responsible for taxes, insurance, and compliance with local laws.
- Public Profile: Your profile information is publicly visible, including search engines.
- Indemnification: You indemnify hometutors.in against liabilities arising from your content or conduct.
- Verification: Be ready to provide proof of qualifications to students upon request.
- No Guarantees: We do not guarantee you will find students or earn any minimum fees.
- Communication: Prompt responses improve your chances; we are not responsible for unresponsive student contacts.
- Professional Conduct: Maintain respectful behavior. Harassment, fraud, or academic dishonesty may lead to immediate account termination.
- Account Suspension: We may suspend or terminate any account at any time for violation of these Terms.
Students / Parents – Additional Terms
- Accurate Information: Provide true, current details when registering.
- Privacy Settings: Manage your visibility to control unwanted calls.
- Safe Transactions: Avoid large advance payments. Verify tutor credentials.
- No Grade Guarantees: We do not guarantee grade improvement; refunds will not be issued based on academic performance.
- Respectful Reviews: Leave honest, constructive feedback without personal attacks.
- Professional Conduct: Behave respectfully; abusive behavior may lead to account suspension.
- Account Deactivation: We are not liable if a tutor’s account is deactivated or sessions stop.
- Informed Decisions: You are solely responsible for selecting a tutor. We are not liable for any resulting issues, including injury or harassment.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with an updated "Effective" date. By continuing to use the website after changes, you accept the revised Terms.
