If you care about science and nothing else in the world, you should probably be here. I can bet when you get out of here, you would know your stuff really well. But I believe things get a little too narrow there, that people from these institutes hardly seem to do anything else in life. Undergrad at least for me is a time to explore. Heck one must have something useful to do, if one gets bored of science. At least in mathematics, faculty here too are skewed to one area or the other, but I believe at an undergrad level it really does not matter.
